Swine flu guidelines 20 July 2009
Swine flu is officially a pandemic, thankfully the vast majority of those with the symptoms here in the UK have been minor.
There are some good basic steps you can follow in order to reduce the risk of you catching and spreading the infection.
1. Always carry tissues, and should you need to cough or sneeze then do so in to the tissue. Dispose of the tissue properly and wash your hands thoroughlyright away.
2. Maintain good personal hygene, washing hands frequently with warm water and sanitizing soap (Clients, we can provide this for you)
3. Keep things such as door handles and other common used hard surfaces clean to reduce the risk of infection
4. Keep adequete supply of cold/cough medicines incase you or your family contract the infection.
5. Don't panic, the vast majority of people suffering with Swine Flu make a full and speedy recovery in just a couple of days.
6. If you suspect that you or a family member has Swine Flu symptoms do not go to the GP surgery or A&E unit of the hospital as this could spread the infection to other people. Instead contact your GP by telephone and follow his or her instructions. If your symptoms deteriate then contact your GP again for further instructions.
7. Contact your employer and inform them of the situation, they should have a proceedure in place and tell you their policy regarding Swine Flu.
